BY: Oliseama Okwuchukwu
Three cattle merchants have been reportedly abducted by unknown gunmen along Wukari – Takum road in Taraba state on Saturday.
The abducted merchants were travelling from Ibbi town to Maraban Baissa in Donga local government area of the state to buy cows, our reporter learnt.
Daily Trust gathered that the merchants were carrying millions of Naira when the abductors blocked the Takum – Wukari road near Kofan Amadu and abducted the merchants after robbing several other travellers.
The abductors, it was gathered, have not contacted family of the victims at the time of filing this report.
The road, which is only linked to Wukari and Takum, is the home town of General T.Y. Danjuma and Taraba state Governor, Darius Ishaku. The road has been under the siege of kidnappers forcing many motorists to abandon the road.
When contacted, the state police spokesman, DSP David Misal, said the command is doing its best to checkmate criminal elements including kidnappers terrorizing innocent citizens.
