ENSG talks tough over dismantling of steel road barrier at Isi-Uzo LGA

Enugu State Government has decried the “wanton dismantling” of its steel road barrier erected at Ikem-Obollo Eke junction, in Ogor Community, Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, by some youths in the area.
According to Engr. Greg Nnaji, Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure the road barrier was duly erected by the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, to restrict articulated vehicles from plying the Ugwogo Nike-Ikem road, to safeguard the infrastructure and lives of the road users.
“The state government, therefore, strongly condemns the uncivilized act of the perpetrators, which is at variance with the commitment of the present administration to provide quality infrastructure for the good people of Enugu State and protect them accordingly for the desired service.
“Consequently, we ask those involved in the dismantling to re-install the barrier immediately or be ready to face the consequences of such unlawful act.
“In view of the above, the government wishes to call on the security agencies to take adequate steps to ensure that its facilities are protected at all times”, Nnaji said.
