Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, on Monday, joined children of the state in celebrating this year’s Children’s Day, at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

The colourful event, which was also part of activities marking the 2nd term inauguration of the governor and his deputy, Hon. Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo, witnessed a large turnout of jubilant students from primary and secondary schools across the state.

An address by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, with the theme: “Drug Abuse Among Children: Addressing The Challenges” was presented to the children on his behalf, by the Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Hon. Mrs. Ezeilo, while Prof. Obiora Ike delivered a public lecture on the subject matter. Trophies were presented to winners of the march-past and other competitions
