A’Ibom Govt lauds AKISCOM’s Support

The Akwa Ibom State Government, has commended sons and daughters of the state in Abuja, under the aegis of Akwa Ibom State Community, (AKISCOM) for supporting the government’s efforts in making life more meaningful for its citizens at home and in the diaspora.
The Secretary to the State Government, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem, gave the commendation in Uyo on Monday when he hosted the Executive members of AKISCOM who paid him a congratulatory visit in his Office.
He lauded them for their overwhelming support towards the re-election of Governor Udom Emmanuel and other PDP candidates in the just-concluded general elections in the state, despite the Warsaw saw war threat and other forms of intimidation from all quarters in the buildup to the elections.
The State Chief Scribe noted that the Governor, himself a member of AKISCOM, is committed to the welfare and well-being of AKISCOM members within and outside the shores of Nigeria in reciprocation of their gesture of always identifying with the programmes and activities of the present Administration.
The SSG made it clear that Governor Udom Emmanuel’s Completion Agenda is intended to transform all sectors of the State’s economy to create more job opportunities to the people of the State.
Dr. Ekuwem maintained that Akwa Ibom State is Nigeria’s next investment destination after Lagos State in view of the numbers of Corporate Organisations, groups and individuals who have been coming to the State for business investments and hosting of workshops and conferences.
While thanking them for the visit, the SSG assured members of AKISCOM, Abuja Branch that the Present Administration under the watch of Governor Udom Emmanuel will ensure that their requests are incorporated in the scheme of things within the polity.
“There’s something about His Excellency, the Governor.He appreciates whoever works for him.So, be rest assured that His Excellency will make you have a sense of belonging in his government.Your support for his re-election is unbelievable,” the SSG assured.
Earlier, the President of the Akwa Ibom State Community (AKISCOM), Abuja, Barr, Aniefiok Ibah, said they were in the SSG’s Office to convey their gratitude to Governor Udom Emmanuel over his victory in the just-concluded Governorship election in the State and his subsequent swearing-in for second term in office.


He said, “Our dear SSG, please convey our deepest gratitude to His Excellency, the Governor for his victory at the poll and his subsequent swearing-in for a second term in Office.
“Sir, AKISCOM-Abuja is made up of technocrats,seasoned professionals, captains of industry and experts.We’re willing and ready to contribute our quota for the development of our state.”
Barr. Ibah also congratulated Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem on his re-appointment as Secretary to the State Government, attributing it to his unflinching loyalty to the Governor, dedication to duties and impressive performance towards the success of Governor Emmanuel’s first term and prayed God to give him the wisdom and good health in the discharge of his assigned responsibilities.
He gave the assurance that AKISCOM, as Stakeholders in the Akwa Ibom Project, is determined to work selflessly for the overall development and sustenance of peace in all parts of the State.

Family Marks one-year Memorial of Late APC Chieftain, Ojougboh with Charity Outreach

The family of the late chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, led by his wife, Mrs. Bose Ojougboh, marked his one-year memorial anniversary with a series of charitable initiatives aimed at honoring his legacy of philanthropy and service to society.
The memorial activities included the donation of school books and bags to pupils of Erigbe Primary School, in Agbor within the Ika South Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State, where Dr. Ojougboh had received his early education.
The outreach also included extension of financial assistance to patients at Central Hospital, Agbor, and the provision of toiletries, cash, and food items to children at the Salve Regina Children’s Home, Agbor.
The outreach was carried out under the ‘Dr. Cairo Ojougboh Foundation’, a family-led initiative established to immortalise him and continue his lifelong commitment to education, healthcare, and social welfare.
Speaking during the event which took place recently, Mrs. Ojougboh reaffirmed the family’s dedication to sustaining the ideals of the late APC chieftain, describing him as a man who strongly believed in education and giving back to society.
“We are here to celebrate the life of my husband, Late Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, who passed on a year ago. In his honour, we decided to give back to society. He was a man who valued education and was always willing to help others. It is only fitting that we continue his legacy through acts of generosity,” she stated.
Honouring his passion for education
The first visit was to Erigbe Primary School, where Dr. Ojougboh had received his early education. The Foundation distributed school bags, writing materials, and food packs to the pupils. The family encouraged the pupils to take their education seriously and strive to become responsible citizens.
Supporting patients at Central Hospital, Agbor
At Central Hospital, Agbor, Mrs. Ojougboh and her entourage moved through the medical wards, offering financial support to patients to assist with their treatment costs. The hospital staff and beneficiaries responded with prayers and words of gratitude for the kind gesture.
Reaching out to orphaned children
The outreach team also visited Salve Regina Children’s Home in Agbor where they donated cash, food items, and toiletries to the children.


The Matron of the home expressed her deep appreciation to the Ojougboh family, commending their commitment to sustaining the late politician’s legacy of compassion and social impact.
Dr. Cairo Ojougboh’s enduring legacy
Reflecting on her late husband’s contributions to society, Mrs. Ojougboh emphasised that his legacy of generosity and service to humanity would not be forgotten.
“Dr. Cairo was a selfless man who touched many lives. His contributions to the Nigerian political landscape, his mark in Agbor Kingdom, Delta State, and the country at large, will always be remembered. He may be gone, but his impact will continue to be felt for generations,” she said.
The Dr. Cairo Ojougboh Foundation has pledged to continue supporting education, healthcare, and social welfare initiatives in his memory, ensuring that his vision for a better society lives on.
