How to immigrate to the US through investment

Immigration to developed countries has taken a toll in the African continent especially Nigeria. Many Nigerians desire to have a good life in the US, Europe and Australia; hence, they immigrate to the these countries.
In response to questions on how to immigrate to the US, Kathryn Berck, a former US consular officer said there are investor visas that can lead to legal permanent residence, which then can eventually lead to citizenship.
“To qualify, a foreign national must invest, without borrowing, at least $1,000,000 in a qualifying commercial enterprise, or $500,000 in a high-unemployment or rural area, considered a targeted employment area.
A qualifying investment must, within two years, create full-time jobs for at least 10 US citizens, lawful permanent residents, or other immigrants authorized to work in the US, not including the investor and the investor’s spouse, sons, or daughters.”
