Man jailed for stealing N3,520 in a church


Magistrate Ivie Akhere of an Oredo Magistrate Court in Benin, Edo State, has sentenced one Henry Godspower to three months imprisonment for stealing church offering.
Prosecutor of the case, ASP Patrick Agbonifo, said the suspect broke into the Greater Liberation Ministry Church located on James Watt Road in Benin and escaped with the church offering.
Godspower was said to have stolen N3,520 from the church and pleaded guilty to the charge when brought against him in court.
After hearing the case, Magistrate Akhere sentenced the suspect to three months imprisonment without an option of fine.
