A Ukrainian passenger aircraft, Boeing-737 carrying 170 people has crashed in Iran.
The aircraft which belongs to Ukraine International Airlines was said to have crashed a few minutes after take-off from Iran’s Imam Khomeini airport in Tehran.
The BBC reports that preliminary investigation suggests that the plane was en route to the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv.
The crash is coming in the heat of hostility between the US and the Middle-East country. But it is uncertain if the incident is connected to the US-Iran rift.
Rescue teams were said to have been sent to the area, near the airport, where the aircraft crashed.
The head of Iran’s Red Crescent was reported to have told state media that it was “impossible” for anyone to have survived the crash.
