River State Has Not Received FG’s N78bn Refund – Official

The Rivers State Government on Wednesday said it had not received N78bn refund from the Federal Government for the construction of federal roads in the state.

Recall that the Federal Government has approved the whooping sum few weeks ago to refund thy River State Government for constructing federal roads.

The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, said in an interview in Port Harcourt.

Responding to questions on why River State Government needed more loans when N78bn had been approved by the Federal Government.”

Nsirim said, “As of today, the Rivers State Government has yet to receive the N78bn approved by the Federal Government.  There is difference between approval and release of funds.

“When the refund is received, Rivers people can always count on Governor Nyesom Wike to use it judiciously to increase the infrastructural development of the State,” Nsirim stated.
