Onne Customs In Rivers State Makes N13 Billion


The Nigeria Customs Service (NSC), Area ll Command Onne Port, Rivers State has generated N13.1 billion for the month of September 2020, the highest since its formation over 37 years ago, an official has said.
It also processed 18,085.96 metric tonnes (MT) of exports with Free On-Board (FOB) value of $6, 441, 850.67 and a Nigeria Export Supervision Scheme (NESS) put at N10, 595, 944.43 during the period.
The Customs Area Controller, Auwal Baba Mohammed, added that the command confiscated 13 containers worth total Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N99.9 million.
He said the seizures consist of 400 bundles of used tyres, 100 pieces of motor radiators, 264 logs of raw hard wood, 100 pieces of car fans and four units of bed trailer trucks.
The Customs chief had, on assumption in office on September 1 this year, set an N11 billion monthly revenue target.
