[BREAKING] Buhari Gets Backlash As He Nominates Lauretta Onochie As INEC Commissioner


Nigerians are beginning to react negatively to the appointment of Lauretta Onochie, for the position of a National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), representing Delta State.
Onochie who is currently the Special Assistant on Social Media to President Muhammadu Buhari was nominated by her boss on Tuesday for the position.
Senate President Ahmad Lawan read President Buhari’s letter of request at plenary.
Also nominated for confirmation as National Commissioners of INEC are: Prof. Mohammed Sani representing Katsina; Prof. Kunle Ajayi (Ekiti) and Seidu Ahmed (Jigawa)
Buhari said the nomination was pursuant to Paragraph 14 of part 1F of the First Schedule of the 1999 Constitution.
Recall that Onochie had involved on social media war with Nigeria super star, Wizkid for calling President Buhari an old man.
