Imo Government Approves New Minimum Wage

Gov. Hope Uzodimma in his 2021 budget presented today at the Imo State House of Assembly titled: BUDGET OF WEALTH CREATION which has a total budget amount of 346,169,972,082 and 14,120,082,285 mapped out for personnel cost.
The figure represents 16% of the total recurrent expenditure budget and an increase in personnel cost is anticipated to accommodate the payment of new Minimum wage.
This further explains the welfare aspect of the 2021 budget of the shared prosperity government of Gov. Hope Uzodimma amongst other sectors. This clearly reflects the love of the governor for civil servants in the State.
Recall that early this week, the Governor charged all civil servants in the State to align with government’s new order which in the long run, will favour lots of Imo civil servants.
The Governor upon assumption of office, prioritized the welfare of Imo workers by the renovation of the State secretariat, steady power supply, prompt payment of salaries and the provision of air-conditioned buses to convey workers to and fro, free of charge, amongst many other incentives.
By this recent move of the State government, Imo will now join in the league of few states that have approved the payment of the minimum wage inspite of the meager resources of the State.
Civil servants can now heave a sigh of relief and express their happiness as they’ve been captured in the 2021 budget for the minimum wage and all thanks to Gov. Hope Uzodimma who has made it possible.
