MAZAMAZA: Lagos Government To Divert Traffic For Completion Of Repairs
The Lagos State Government has announced plans for traffic diversion to complete the ongoing road rehabilitation and repair works on the failed portion of the road between Mazamaza and Signal Barracks on the Lagos Badagry Expressway for a period of eight weeks commencing from Monday, 29th March to Monday 31th May, 2021.
In a statement released today, the State Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, said the traffic diversion was necessary to speed up the proposed rehabilitation works on the Lagos bound lane, which is already at an advanced stage, before the rainy season.
According to him, alternative routes have been made available with adequate traffic management measures put in place to ensure traffic movement despite the expected inconveniences, advising motorists heading towards Apapa from Mazamaza to use the newly constructed slip road by the Total Filling station to connect the ramp and access Apapa.
On the other hand, road users heading to Orile/Suru from Mazamaza will be diverted to the opening at Total Filling Station to link Toll lane and continue their movement to Orile or through the opening at Signal Barracks to access the Service lane from Toll lane to continue their journey.
He enjoined motorists going to Oshodi from Mazamaza to use the opening at Total Filling station to connect Toll lane and drive down to use the opening after Mile 2 underpass before Signal Barracks to access the ramp with counterflow to Apapa-Oworonshoki Expressway and continue their journey to Oshodi.
Oladeinde informed that road users going to Orile from Oshodi would be diverted to Mile 2 Oke to connect the ramp to Signal barracks and continue their journey to Orile Iganmu, while those going back to Oshodi should make a U-turn and continue their trip to Oshodi. Motorists coming from Otto Wharf should use the opening before Signal Barracks and connect the Toll lane in order to access Alaba/Orile.
While assuring that the State’s Traffic Management Personnel (LASTMA) will be deployed to the axis to manage traffic, the Commissioner warned that under no circumstances should traffice officials be assaulted in the course of duty, as anyone caught in the act will be dealt with decisively.
He reiterated that the State Government will continue to work relentlessly to ensure that movement within the metropolis is made seamless for the citizenry, stressing further that the cooperation of all and sundry is needed to achieve the goals set by the current administration in the transport sector.

Rented Crowed, APC AKIDA Leader with Zamfara State Govt. Buses Embark on Campaign of Calumny at DSS Office
Godiya Hamza, a Media Analyst, writes from Abuja
The orchestrated campaign of calumny against the Honourable Minister of State for Defence H.E Dr Bello Muhammad Matawalle MON by a group of street orchins recruited by the leader of APC AKIDA Tijjani Ramallan is very preposterous and indecent.
This is politics too far, Ramadan has been attacking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR right from campaign days. He never supported or participated in APC activities, he has been jealous of Matawalle loyalty to our President.
Tijjani Ramallan has been sponsoring Banditry and romancing with criminals.
The leader of the APC AKIDA Tijjani Ramallan is being sponsored by the state government to attack the person of Dr Matawalle. It is expected that by now the DSS should have arrested him . He has found himself as a willing tool to be manipulated by Governor Dauda Lawal in attacking Dr Matawalle.
The earlier smear campaign embarked by zamfara state government which was stopped by a court order has forced them to shift to the use of APC AKIDA to carry out their mischief.
What zamfara people need is good governance and not wasting the state resources in trying to pull Matawalle down.
Pull him down syndrome pays no body.

Picture Of The 17-Year-Old Hawker Who Was Shot Dead By The Police, Which Led To Wuse Market Fire Saga Yesterday
Yesterday, Angry youths set parts of the popular Wuse market in Abuja on fire over the killing of a 17-year-old hawker simply identified as Musa.
The office of the Abuja Markets Management Limited (AMML) inside the market as well as some cars parked at the market’s car park were reportedly affected.
It was gathered that a suspect who was being tried at the mobile court in the market attempted to run away, but was allegedly shot and killed by the police.
A senior official of the AMML, who pleaded for anonymity, confirmed the incident.
He said the suspect was already convicted of a crime which was not mentioned and in the process of taking him to court for another offence, the boy bolted and tried to run when he was shot by the police. The AMML official said that was what provoked the attackers to burn down some shops, the office of AMML and some vehicles.
The situation caused a stampede in the market as people rushed to save their property.
It is not clear how many people were injured in the stampede as people scaled the fences while some pushed their way through the few gates available. But so many shops and goods got destroyed by the fire.
