Judges, Lawyers, Denied Access To Court By Landlord Over Rent
Judges and lawyers have been denied entry into a customary court in Amurri, Enugu state after the landlord locked it over unpaid rent.
According to media reports, the Customary Court presided by Egbo, Esq., in Amurri close to Agbani town, which houses the Nigerian Law School, Agbani campus, was locked up on September 12 due to inability to renew the rent.
The incident prevented the judges from sitting and forced lawyers to seek answers after unable to have their cases attended to as well.
After some enquiries, lawyers were told that the courtroom’s rent is due but it has not been renewed so the owner locked up pending renewal.
