Police Deny Reports Of Attempted Kidnapping Of Temi In Rivers State


The Rivers State Police Command have denied reports of attempted kidnap of singer, Teni in Degema, Asari Toru Local Government Area of the state.
Reports emerged earlier today, there were reports that unknown gunmen tried to abduct the ‘case’ crooner.
The singer was a guest artiste at a show in Buguma, Rivers State and moments into her performance, what is alleged to be an attempt to kidnap her was foiled thanks to her security detail.
Eyewitnesses who were present at the event narrated that the singer’s security fired a round of gunshots as people scampered for safety — in a video that captures the moment scary moment, Teni is seen performing to cheering fans before seconds later, things took a different turn and gunshots can later be heard.
However, the State Command’s Public Relation Officer, Iringe Grace Koko said it was not a kidnap attempt.
The police PRO said some miscreants who had a misunderstanding at the venue of the show created a scene that made security agents fire some gunshots to wade off violence.
She further revealed that the miscreants had a “free for all moment”, but the prompt intervention of the security agencies saved the situation.
