Dice set to release EP ‘48 Hours In The Motherland’

After years of putting in work to find his footing in the Nigerian and the global music industry, budding artiste, Dice is set to release his maiden body of works, an EP titled ‘48 Hours In The Motherland’.

Born in the US, the artiste, who has lived most of his life in the UK, says that the EP is inspired by his last visit to Nigeria where he had the opportunity to learn about his culture, people and the entire music industry.

Dice, who is of the Niger Delta extraction, precisely the Urhobo tribe, noted that aside from his visit to the country, his love life is another inspiration behind the project.

Speaking on the project, the artiste says that the masterpiece boasts of an array of clinically delivered sounds ranging from amapiano, alte and trap.

According to him, there is something for every music lover, irrespective of their genre leaning.

“I am very excited to unleash this to the world. It has been a long time coming. My goal is to make sure there is at least one song everyone can relate to. In putting this project together, I pushed myself to break limits because the satisfaction of my listeners is important to me,” he said.

As an entertainer, Dice’s passion for music was first nurtured at age five when he learnt to play the violin as one of the first of four instruments he learned growing up. In his later years, Dice had begun recording music with his voice first in 2017 but didn’t release his debut single ‘Clinical’ till 2020.

Prior to this time, Dice has released a couple of singles including ‘I Want’, ‘Kilode’, ‘Lord Forgive Me’ and ‘Prodigal’. In 2021, he released ‘Clinical’,

‘Delirious’, ‘Diamond Dial’, ‘Teasing’, ‘OUU’ (She Leanin’), as well as

‘Status Change’, garnering hundreds of thousands of streams across digital platforms.

He has gone on to develop his trap/wave sound with a few more singles.

His latest single ‘Kilode’ cultivates the afrobeat sounds and genre. The song is known to be the hit song of the summer cultivating the true raw afrobeat sound and spreading vibes internationally whilst he performed at various shows in London.

The EP ‘48 Hours In The Motherland’ will be released to the general public come Friday, January 28.

Grammy Award-winning singer Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has revealed why he is not yet ready to have children.

He made this known during an Instagram live session on his page on Wednesday.

Burna Boy claimed that his desire to provide the same level of love and dedication his parents gave him is the reason why he is not having kids.

Explaining further, Burna Boy said, “Why haven’t I had kids yet? Bro, it’s because I don’t want to have kids. Like, have you seen my operation? Have you seen my mom the way she loves me? Have you seen my dad the way he loves me?

“Bro, I know I can’t give that to anyone right now with the life I live. So until I am settled and can be there for my children every day, every minute of every day, I am not having any kids.”

Men Of The Lagos State Police Command Have Arrested Singer Portable

The singer was arrested or rather dramatically dragged into the police van while he was trying to run away from the arrest on May 14 following a petition from a car dealer.

Portable allegedly purchased a G-Wagon worth N27 million from the car dealer, made a down payment and took the vehicle away with the promise to pay the balance.

After waiting for a while without any word concerning his balance, the dealer reached out to the singer who claimed the car he purchased had faults. The dealer then asked the singer to return the car or pay the balance but Portable allegedly refused.

Following a petition from the dealer, the police moved in and arrested the singer who is currently in their custody.

When contacted, the spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest of the singer.

Comedians such as AY Makun, Seyi Law, and MC Lively and many other celebrities were in attendance at the child dedication ceremony of ace comedian Atunyota Akpobome, popularly known as Ali Baba.

Recall that the comedian announced the birth of his triplets, born two months earlier, on his Instagram account on Monday, April 1, 2024. However, some netizens thought it was a prank which Ali Baba didn’t bother clarifying.
