Presidency Debunks Viral Claims of Femi Gbajabiamila Replacement

The Presidency has officially addressed and refuted a viral social media report claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has replaced his Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, with his Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.
In a statement released on Thursday, December 25, 2025, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, categorized the report as an absolute falsehood and a fabrication by purveyors of fake news.
No Change in Presidential Aides
The Presidency clarified that there has been no reshuffling regarding these key administrative roles:
- Chief of Staff: Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila remains in his position.
- Principal Private Secretary: Hakeem Muri-Okunola continues in his current role.
The statement emphasized that Hakeem Muri-Okunola has not replaced Femi Gbajabiamila, advising Nigerians to disregard the viral claim in its entirety.
A Call for Responsible Journalism
The Presidency attributed the circulation of this story to “mischievous purveyors” intent on creating disharmony within the government. Furthermore, the administration issued a strong advisory to the public and news media organizations to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of information before publishing or sharing on digital platforms.
“There is absolutely no truth to this story,” the statement read, reinforcing the stability of the President’s core administrative team.
