BREAKING: Chimaroke Nnamani re-elected as senator


With his political mastery showing up again and jubilations from the Enugu East Senatorial District renting the air, the former Enugu State Governor, Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani is returning to the Senate.
Chimaroke who looked much younger and refreshed continues his second coming to the Red Chambers as he was declared the winner of Enugu East senatorial election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Announcing the results at about 9.16 am today, the returning officer Prof. Aloysious Okorie stated that Nnamani polled 128,843 votes to defeat his closest rival, Prince Lawrence Ezeh of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 14,225 votes.
Chimaroke Nnamani (born May 1960) is a medical doctor.
He was Governor of Enugu State from 1999 to 2007 and a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Senator for Enugu East Senatorial District from 2007 to 2011.
