Vincent Kaior has embarked on a 265km trek from Tsar Mbaduku, a border community with Cross River State, in Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State, to Makurdi, the state capital, to celebrate the re-election of Governor Samuel Ortom and the victory of the senator-elect for Benue North-West, Mr. Orker Jev.
Days before the general elections, Kaior, who started the trek a day ago, had promised that he would embark on the tortuous journey if the duo emerged victorious in the hard-fought election.
In fulfilment of the promise, he commenced the journey, Friday morning, from his home town, Tsar Mbaduku, which is 4kms to Cross River State, at exactly 7:20am and was received at Vandeikya Local Government Secretariat by the council secretary, Mr Boniface Taave.
The farmer has already trekked through Tsemker and Ihugh all in Vandeikya Local Government Area before arriving Lessel Ushongo Local Government Area early yesterday.
So far, he has covered Lessel and adjoining communities and, at the time of this report, Kaior was said to be trekking into Gboko town, the headquarters of Tiv.
His journey by foot is expected to take him through five local government areas of Benue.
