Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has debunked the rumour making rounds that he is planning to dump the Peoples Democratic (PDP), for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking with reporters in Makurdi on Friday, Governor Ortom described the rumour as the handwork of mischief makers.
He stressed that there was no basis for leaving the PDP as he has been accommodated and made comfortable in return.
He said, “I have no reason whatsoever to leave PDP, the Party that re-elect me, I am a card carrying member of this party, I also built the party, I can’t go back to APC, there is no basis for that, there is nothing wrong with me in the Party.”
The governor also warned those peddling rumour on the social media that he has advised Kogi State governor to leave APC for Accord Party to desist from such rumour saying he was not in any way in the mood to join issues with Kogi politics. “I don’t know anything about Kogi Politics and I have never advised governor Bello on anything, I am trying to tackle my issues here in Benue and I am yet to even achieve the desired result, how can I jump from here to another state, this is really mischief and I have distanced myself from such reports.”
