The Senate on Thursday suspended Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for 90 legislative days.

The suspension followed the outcome of the Senate committee that was set up to probe Omo-Agege.

The legislative chamber equally asked the Delta State senator to withdraw his case against the Senate from court.

So also did the report of the committee, which was adopted at the plenary, ask for the dissolution of the pro-President Muhammadu Buhari group in the Senate.

Omo-Agege is believed to be the arrowhead of the pro-Buhari group in the Senate.

He is believed to be the closest senator at the moment to President Buhari.

The immediate cause being fought for now in the Senate is the failure of the President to append his signature to the amended Electoral Act Bill.

Senators loyal to the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, are bent on vetoing the President on the bill.

After his suspension, Omo-Agege left the chamber with another pro-Buhari Senator, Abdullahi Adamu.

They went to the office of Adamu, a former Governor of Nasarawa State, while plenary was still on.
