Panic Heigbtens As ‘109’ NYSC Members Test Positive For COVID-19


Fears have heightened after reports of increased number of COVID-19 cases at the various camps of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) across the country.
The NYSC had recently deployed members of the batch B stream I prospective corps to various states for their orientation course.
The scheme had also made COVID-19 test mandatory for the prospective corps members and visitors to the various camps.
According to Daily Trust, at least 109 prospective corps members have been diagnosed with the novel disease in the country so far.
The cases were said to have been recorded during the scheme’s compulsory COVID-19 tests at the various the orientation camps.
In Edo, about 17 corps members were said to have tested positive for the virus while 26 cases were recorded in Plateau state.
Gombe also reportedly recorded 25 cases while Sokoto and Ogun states have 14 and six cases respectively.
