MKO Abiola
President Muhammadu Buhari conferred a posthumous national honour of Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR) on late Nigerian businessman and politician, Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola (popularly known as MKO Abiola), who won the first democratic presidential election in Nigeria on June 12, 1993 and was assassinated shortly after.
Following the conferment, President Buhari declared June 12 as Democracy Day in Nigeria and the Lagos State Government also unveiled a giant statue in honour of the 25th anniversary of MKO Abiola’s election win 25 years ago.

Woman jumps into Lagos Lagoon
The search for a woman who allegedly jumped into the Lagos Lagoon on Sunday is still ongoing.
The moment the incident was reported, officials from the Lagos State emergency management agency, Marine Police, and local divers began a search for her body, which is yet to be found.
Since the news of the woman who jumped into the Lagos Lagoon broke, speculation as to her identity and why she committed suicide has been rife.
Kim Jong Un
The historic meeting between North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un and United States President Donald Trump took place on Tuesday morning in Singapore.
It was the first-ever meeting between a US president and the North Korean leader.
Since the closed-door summit on Tuesday, there has been speculation as to what was said and agreed to by both leaders, making ‘Kim Jong Un’ a trending search term this week.

Former Governor of Plateau State, Joshua Dariya was convicted and sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment on Tuesday by a judge in Abuja.
Dariya was charged with criminal breach of trust and misappropriation of public funds of the sum of N1.16 billion. The charges were brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in 2007.

Young Man Named Young C, Delves Into The Challenge Of Being Buried Alive For 24 Hours
Sharing a video on his Instagram account, he said;
“I am going to be spending the next 24 hours buried in this casket. Guys, this is real, not fake. And the most amazing part is that I am going to go live by night.”
In a subsequent update, the young man simply identified as Young C revealed that he had been buried for over 8 hours and was experiencing physical discomfort, including excessive sweating;
“Guys, I have been buried alive for over 8 hours now. For those of you who saw my first video, I have been down here. As you can see, my camera is still rolling, and I have my light down there, I am sweating, guys.”
In yet another update, Young C said he has started experiencing heat and that his fear now is for his rechargeable fan not to run out of power.
He also showed a container where he has been urinating since he began the challenge.
This feat was also once attained by an American YouTuber, Jimmy Donaldson popular known as MrBeast who spent 50 hours buried underground.

Nigerian Woman Breaks Guinness World Record With 55-Hour Interview Marathon
Nigerians are actively participating in the Guinness World Records breaking feats which is quite encouraging and interesting.
You can say this has been the order of the day for over a year now as determined individuals have been coming into the spotlight to showcase their ability to break previously held records on different skills and talents.
This time around, Nigerian social media entrepreneur Clara Chizoba Kronborg has broken the world record for the longest interviewing marathon with a time of 55 hours 24 seconds.
The previous record was 37 hours 44 minutes by Rob Oliver (USA) in 2022.
