PinkMind Donates Medical Face Shields to Alimosho General Hospital

Pinkmind, a non-Governmental Organisation, has donated 150 units of medical face shields to Alimosho General Hospital, Igando, as part of her Corporate Social Responsibility to reduce exposure of workers during healthcare delivery.

Receiving the donated items at the Facility, the Medical Director, Dr. Madewa Adebajo, expressed profound gratitude to the donors, noting that the gesture came at a time when the hospital is in need of the supplies.

He said, “The face shields will certainly aid conscientious delivery by the frontline health workers. It is noteworthy that about 60 pieces of the mask were recently purchased by the hospital for core front-liners, however, this recent supply would certainly augment our supplies”.

Speaking further on the need to support Government-owned facilities through donations to prioritise delivery, Dr. Adebajo stated that “Manufacturers are at this time overwhelmed with producing more face shields. As the demands get higher, so the amount increases. This gesture is certainly not considered a token, rather, a well-appreciated one intended for patients’ satisfaction”.

“This particular face shield proffers a better form of protection against the spread of the dreaded virus, as it covers the eyes, nose and mouth, as prescribed. Definitely, it complements the use of the face mask which causes breathing discomfort. We are immensely grateful for this noble gesture”, he added.

According to the Coordinator, Pinkmind, Mrs. Bukola Alabi, the gesture emanated from the need to keep up with the demand for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by the frontline workers.

“Pinkmind wants to ensure standard precautionary measures to curb the spread of COVID -19 by strengthening workers’ defence from pandemic warfare. This is certainly our COVID-19 intervention programme for our dear State and country”, she said.
