SIFAX Chairman Taiwo Afolabi Donates Church, Vicarage to Ijebu Anglican Diocese
The church, Samson Afolabi Anglican Church, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, would seek to meet the spiritual needs of the town’s GRA residents.
Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, Chairman, SIFAX Group has donated a church, vicarage, children hall and a bus to the Ijebu Anglican Diocese in commemoration of his 60th birthday.
The church, Samson Afolabi Anglican Church, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, would seek to meet the spiritual needs of the town’s GRA residents.
At the church’s dedication service, Afolabi, in company of his family, friends and well-wishers, appreciated God for His mercy and favour in the last 60 years. He said the donation was his way of showing gratitude to God for the journey of six decades filled with abundant grace and multiple blessings.
He said: “Let me start by expressing my appreciation to God Almighty who has remained my source and inspiration over the years. He has not only kept me alive but has also granted me grace, gave me a beautiful family, loyal friends and associates. I don’t know how else to say Thank You God than to build a befitting place where His people can come and worship”.
In his sermon, Rt. Rev. Dr. Peter Rotimi Oludipe, the Bishop of Ijebu Anglican Diocese, showered encomiums on the SIFAX Group boss, describing him as a shining light to this generation and a great philanthropist.
He congratulated him on the milestone birthday and further urged him to continue affecting the society positively.
Dignitaries at the event included Prince Dapo Abiodun, Ogun State Governor; Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo; Former Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel; Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Oba Saheed Elegushi, Senator Iyiola Omisore, Kemi Adeosun, former Minister of Finance amongst others.

President Tinubu Congratulates Tunde Onakoya On Guinness World Chess Record
President Bola Tinubu congratulates Mr. Tunde Onakoya on setting a new world chess record and sounding the gong of Nigeria’s resilience, self-belief, and ingenuity at the square of global acclaim.
Mr. Onakoya broke the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon on Saturday, after playing for over 58 hours and winning every match in tow.
President Tinubu celebrates the Nigerian Chess Champion and founder of Chess in Slums Africa for the rare feat, but especially for the reason driving this compelling demonstration of character, which is raising funds for African children to learn and find opportunity through chess.
The President states Mr. Onakoya has shown a streak customary among Nigeria’s youth population, the audacity to make good change happen; to baffle impossibility, and propel innovations and solutions to the nation’s challenges, even from corners of disadvantage.
The President affirms that Nigeria’s youths have demonstrated in all fields, including Afrobeats, Nollywood, the pulsating skit-making enterprise, education, science, and technology, that great exploits can truly come from small quarters.
President Tinubu commends the inclination of Nigerians – across artificial partitions – for unity, once again exemplified through their undiluted support for this epoch-making endeavour.
The President assures all citizens that his administration remains strongly committed to creating and expanding opportunities for the youth to explore and exercise their abilities and become the symbols of greatness our nation represents into the future.

Nigerian Chef, RossyG, Officially Ended Her 21 Days Cooking Marathon
Chef RossyG, who officially embarked on a 21 days cooking marathon on the 10th of March 2024 with the aim of breaking Guinness World Records for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, has now
surpassed Alan Fisher’s record for the longest cooking marathon.
She achieved this feat on the 31st of March 2024.
The longest cooking marathon by an individual is 119 hr 57 min 16 sec, and was achieved by Alan Fisher (Ireland) in Matsue, Shimane, Japan, from 28 September to 3 October 2023.
RossyG clocked an unbelievable 518 hours of nonstop cooking, a record that took her 21 days to set.
As jubilation continues for her, RossyG awaits a confirmation from Guinness World Records (GWR).

Man Swims 3rd Mainland Bridge Lagoon To Raise Mental Health Awareness Campaign
Nigerian swimming coach Akinrodoye Dare, also known as Coach Dreh, reportedly to have swam the entire 11.8 kilometers of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos on Saturday.
Coach Dreh was said to have completed the challenge in two hours and 33 minutes and fifty seconds, to raise awareness about mental health issues, particularly suicide, and depression.
This was disclosed in a video shared by a social media user #MeetPrinceAhmad, via his X handle on Saturday, March 30.
The video caption reads: ” Today, the 30th March, 2024. A young man defied all odds and daringly swam the 11.8km length of the third mainland bridge in 2hrs33mins50 secs.
