My take on Ekweremadu’s case with EFCC

A great number are pliable and malleable.

Once there is an allegation of corruption, the accused must be guilty.

Bukola Saraki went through a very embarrassing trial. He was accused of not declaring some pieces of property across the country to the Code of Conduct of Bureau and of operating a foreign account where he stashed away stolen funds.

After the gruelling and humiliating run, he was declared not guilty by the supreme court.

But the agents of government had already achieved what they wanted – to put his name in a pigsty.

Let me explain how government agencies use the media to sully the reputation of dissidents or counter forces.

Simple! They invite the person of interest, keep him and send out embarrassing information (exclusive) about the individual to some persons in the media, and being from the “source”, the story gets published.

The aim is achieved. The individual earns a corruption moniker.

I was to be used this way in the past.

Nigerians have no faith or trust in any political leader, so corruption allegations sell like Davido’s songs. Government agents know this, and they exploit it.
